Tous Cultural Landscape
Tous Cultural Landscape is part of the Tentative list of Iran in order to qualify for inclusion in the World Heritage List.
Tous Cultural Landscape comprises an ancient city. It is said that the city of Tous was the capital of Parthia and the residence of King Vishtaspa, who was the first convert to Zoroastianism. It was captured by Alexander the Great in 330 BCE. The brick Tus Citadel dates from the Sassanid era.
